EDITORIAL BOARD

CHAKIÑAN, Social Sciences, and Humanities Journal has been conceived to promote the free and unrestricted dissemination of knowledge on an international scale, from a public entity. This implies particularities of the administrative dependency on this type of organization. 

As a consequence, the organizational management structure (OMS) of the Chakiñan Journal was designed to respond to these particularities. The journal was also projected with a futuristic vision focused on positioning it in the national and international scientific community of the region.

Furthermore, due to the diversity of countries to which the members of the OMS belong, and the time difference which limits the possibility of holding face-to-face, and virtual meetings, the predominant form of communication and exchange of information is through e-mail.

The Editorial Board is the part of the organizational structure in charge of managing the editorial process from the reception of manuscripts to their publication, as well as the proper functioning of the journal in all aspects, for which the following Organizational Units were established:

EDITORIAL TEAM:

The editorial staff is made up of research professors from the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo. The editorial team assumes a management philosophy based on continuous improvement so as to respond to good editorial practices that embrace trends and demands from the International Databases, which dictate the guidelines in terms of scientific production.

The functions of the editorial team are: to formally and legally represent the publication, the design and application of the editorial and scientific policy of the journal, the editorial and ethical standards, the coordination and guidance of the activity of authors, members of the OMS and collaborators, the control of the assigned resources, holding systematic meetings to analyze and assess the work carried out by the different actors, ensuring the quality of the publication, compliance with what is established and proposing actions for improvement, which are submitted to consultation and assessment by the members of the Editorial Board. EDITORIAL COMMITTEE:

The editorial committee is conceived as an advisory and consultative body for editorial decision-making. It is made up of prestigious specialists who stood out for their impressive results in the scientific field. It also takes into account the geographical diversity and the predominance of international participation. A priori, this is consulted via email on decisions that affect the editorial management process, on proposals to assume good editorial practices, and for updating the Scientific Committee, among other aspects.

The functions of the editorial team also include evaluating the performance of the journal and making recommendations for improvement. Writing editorials on behalf of the Editor-in-Chief. Requesting the publication of special issues, and assuming the role of Main Editor for some of the issues to be published, depending on the needs.

EDITORIAL SUPPORT TEAM:

The editorial support team conduct a systematic and anonymous work, of great importance to enhance the quality of the published articles, and their visibility. They also look after the promotion of the journal, and interaction with readers from different contexts and the international scientific community. Occasionally and according to specific needs, meetings, coordination activities, and specific requests from the Editor-in-Chief, as spokesperson and representative of the journal, can be held.
